YOU Voted Mary Street for Orem City Council
Because how we grow matters.....
Why did I run for City Council?

The decisions we make for our city today can last a lifetime.  We have a great city, with many great people, great values, and great opportunities. We also face some great challenges as we contemplate what our future will bring.  As a member of the Orem City Council, I commit that I will:
  • guide our future development with careful planning and common sense
  • preserve what we love about our city
  • encourage growth that retains and creates jobs
  • budget and spend wisely
  • think creatively and be willing to consider new ideas
  • engage our youth in the community through recreation, arts, and community service to help provide alternatives to drugs, violence, and crime
  • be accountable for the decisions I make
I am committed to community service and believe that each of us in our own ways can and should use our talents to help our city prosper.

What experience do I have?

Since 2005, I have been a member of the Orem City Planning Commission. I have considered it a great honor and privilege to serve alongside other volunteer members of our community. My additional qualifications include:

  • Member of the Urban Land Institute
  • Supporter of Envision Utah and Reconnecting America
  • Community participant with the Economic Development Corporation of Utah
  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Women's Business Network of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce
  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics
  • Master of Arts in History

By trade I am a commercial real estate agent specializing in land and investment sales for a regional commercial real estate brokerage. Throughout my career I have worked at local, county, and state levels promoting effective land-use policies to support economic development, community redevelopment, and market-driven development of housing choices to provide sustainable growth for our communities. My most recent projects, Transit Oriented Development master-planning, have given me the opportunity to work with various groups, including UDOT, UTA, and Mountainland Association of Governments in preparation for road and rail projects that will shape the future of our communities for the next century.

A little about me: I've been an Orem resident for 15 years. My husband, Bill, and I have seven children and two grandsons. I love baseball, my flowers, hiking with my family, abstract art, and picking up rocks.

I want to hear from you! If you have a problem, issue, or concern that affects the future of Orem, or if you want to tell me what you love about our city and want to preserve, click on my email address below, or send an email to:
